In a market that demands the very highest level of fine detail, CMA have a vast amount of experience in vacuum casting and white metal centrifugal casting, producing components for fine scale models, e.g. cars, ships, trains, figures etc.

7) Polyurethane Resin Castings

Polyurethane resin castings for the scale model market often require complex and intricate components with fine detail and definition. This is achieved via soft flexible silicone rubber, (with mould life normally around 50 – 60 parts) retaining the high level of detail over the complete run.

8) Centrifugal White Metal Casting

Centrifugal metal castings are produced in lead/tin alloy, pewter or zinc, from either heat cured (brass masters) or cold cure (non metal masters) silicone mould tools. Mould sizes are from 150mm (6”) to 330mm (13”) and have the capability of producing a kit per mould or an individual part per mould allowing for limited runs or production runs of thousands.

9) Master Patterns

In general, master patterns may be made from any stable non-porous material. A high level of detail may be applied to the master pattern. It is vital that all gaps and hairline cracks are thoroughly sealed, and undercuts kept to a minimum. We ask that master patterns be finished with acrylic or cellulose grey primer.

10) Other Services

We offer the additional services of Flexible tyres, Electro Plating and Vacuum Forming, which can add the finishing touch to a fine scale model.
